Get cited when your clients ask an AI for advice.

We prepare your website and your online presence so that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI Mode understand what you do, and cite you when your clients ask their questions.

The role of GEO

An assistant does not rank pages. It writes an answer.

A business owner looking for a provider now asks an assistant a whole question: “Which agency can help me sell a development of twelve apartments in the canton of Fribourg?” The assistant reads a few pages, extracts passages and cites the sources that support its answer. GEO is about being one of those sources.

Why a business is not cited

  1. 01

The website does not answer the questions

Who you are, for whom, what, at what price, with what results: if the answer is not on your site, the assistant takes it elsewhere, often from a competitor.

  2. 02

    Information that contradicts itself

A name, activity or area that differs between the website, the Google profile and LinkedIn: the assistant hesitates, and a hesitant source is not cited.

  3. 03

    Pages that assistants cannot read

AI crawlers blocked by a firewall, text loaded only in JavaScript, figures without a source: the page is ignored or weakened.

The role of GEO

Our GEO set-up

Understood, recognised, then cited.

GEO extends SEO: the same technical foundations, with content written to be quoted as is.

  1. 01

    Ask assistants your clients’ questions

We query ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI Mode with your prospects’ questions, and note who they recommend, and why.

  2. 02

    Answer the five key questions

Who you are, who you work for, what you do, how your price is built, what you have achieved. One page per service, named case studies with authorised figures.

  3. 03

    Write quotable passages

A clear answer at the top of the page, subheadings phrased as questions, FAQs marked up with structured data.

  4. 04

    Make the business recognisable

A reference wording (name, activity, area, contact) repeated word for word on the website, the Google profile, LinkedIn and directories, and declared in structured data.

  5. 05

    Open the door, then measure

Assistant crawlers allowed, content present in the HTML, an llms.txt file; then visits coming from chatgpt.com or perplexity.ai recorded with each enquiry.

Our testing ground

We apply the method to our own website.

An answer at the top of every article, marked-up FAQs, structured data for the company and its founder, /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt files published, assistant crawlers allowed. Everything can be checked.

What we avoid

No shortcuts.

Assistants cross-check their sources. Whatever fools a robot ends up weakening the whole page.

  1. 01

    Hidden pages

Text written for robots and invisible to visitors is a source that engines learn to ignore.

  2. 02

    Lists of towns

Repeating a list of towns creates no local presence. One page per area with real information does.

  3. 03

    Unverifiable figures

A percentage without a client, a period or a source weakens the whole page.

Frequently asked questions

01What is the difference between SEO and GEO?

SEO aims for a place in Google’s results. GEO aims for a citation in the answer of an assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity. The foundations are the same; GEO also requires quotable passages and a consistent identity everywhere.

02Can you pay to appear in ChatGPT?

ChatGPT ads appear below the answer, labelled as sponsored; they do not buy a place in the answer itself. Being cited remains a matter of content and consistency.

03How long before being cited?

It depends on how often assistants re-read your pages and on competition for the questions targeted. We measure before and after, on the same questions, rather than promise a timeframe.

04How do you know if clients come from ChatGPT?

A visit from ChatGPT arrives with a chatgpt.com referrer or a utm_source=chatgpt.com parameter. We record this source with each enquiry. Also ask every new client how they found you.

05Is an llms.txt file enough?

No. No engine has committed to reading it. It costs little and gives a clean entry point to the tools that consult it, but it is your pages that get cited.

06Is GEO useful for a local SME?

Yes, when your clients ask for advice before choosing: “which installer in Neuchâtel?”, “which fiduciary in Fribourg?”. An assistant then cites the businesses whose activity and area it understands.
